Senior Platform Engineer - IaaS - RedHat - Ansible - Python
FULLY REMOTE (UK), up to £479/day Inside IR35
Leading financial services client is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join them on a contract basis - fully remote. You will play a key role in managing the Linux server estate within a complex operational platform. This position involves engineering, supporting, and maintaining critical infrastructure while driving automation and performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain the Linux server estate with a strong focus on RedHat Enterprise Linux.
- Implement, validate, and assure technical solutions across the infrastructure.
- Automate infrastructure management using Ansible, AAP, and other automation tools.
- Work on projects integrating new infrastructure into data centres and cloud environments.
- Ensure cybersecurity, vulnerability management, and compliance across systems.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong Linux system administration and engineering experience with RHEL.
- Hands-on experience with Satellite (install, configure, manage) and VMware.
- Experience in server implementation, monitoring, upgrades, and automation (Infrastructure as Code).
- Knowledge of networking technologies and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with Python, Bash scripting, APIs for automation.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve platform issues
