Chief Data Scientist - New York

A market-leading life insurance provider committed to innovation, customer-centric solutions, and data-driven decision-making is searching for a Chief Data Scientist for the headquarters in New York. The role will involve building Data and Analytics capabilities to support pricing capabilities within competitive markets and also improve tools for internal users such as Brokers and Sales staff.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a digital transformation strategy for Data Science
• Lead a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
• Drive innovation by leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance underwriting, claims management, and customer experiences.
• Identify growth opportunities through predictive modeling and risk assessment.
• Help establish and grow and internal centre of excellence for Data Science

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
• Experience within the Insurance domain isn't essential
• Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire and mentor a team.
• Expertise in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and LLM's is desirable
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
